Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Later is a personal bookmark app. This page describes what the app actually does today. Later shows no ads inside the app, does not sell data and does not analyse the content of the links you save.
Who runs Later
Later is an independent project. The Later team is responsible for your data. Contact: laterbookmarks@gmail.com.
What we store
- Your library — the links, titles, notes and collections you save. They are private unless you choose to share a collection. A shared collection can be opened by anyone with its link; it shows titles and links, never your notes. You can stop sharing at any time.
- Your account — if you register, your email address (from email sign-up or Google sign-in). Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and are not stored in readable form. We do not ask for your name or photo.
- Guest access — without an account, a secure cookie lets your browser reach your library. Deleting it can mean losing access to those links.
- Basic usage counts — anonymous events such as visits, saves and installs, linked to a random visitor cookie. They never include the content of your links or notes.
Why
Only to run Later: to save and show your library, keep you signed in, and understand in aggregate whether the app is used. The legal basis is providing the service you asked for and our legitimate interest in keeping it working.
Who else is involved
Data is stored with our hosting and database provider (Lovable Cloud). Google processes sign-in if you choose Google. Fonts are served from our own site, not from Google. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU; where they do, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. When you save a link, Later fetches that page once to fill in its description. Later advertises itself on Google Ads; see Cookies below. We do not share your data for any other purpose.
Cookies
Later uses a small number of cookies and browser storage: one to keep you signed in, one for guest access, and a random visitor identifier used for anonymous usage counts (it holds no name or email and is not shared for advertising). Your browser may also keep your display preferences and a draft of an unsaved note. Later runs ads on Google to reach new people. To measure whether those ads bring visitors, the site loads the Google Ads tag, which sets a cookie and tells Google when a page is visited (device and browser details, the page address and ad click identifiers). It never receives your links, notes or email. Google is the recipient; see how Google uses data. In the EU, UK and Switzerland this only happens if you accept in the cookie banner; elsewhere it is on by default. You can change your choice at any time:
Your rights
You can export your library at any time in Settings and delete any link or note yourself. You can delete your account and all its data yourself in Settings → Delete account; this is immediate and permanent. To access, correct or object to processing, write to laterbookmarks@gmail.com — we aim to reply as soon as we can, and within the time limits set by law. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
How long
Your library stays until you delete it or your account. Unused guest libraries and anonymous usage counts may be removed after 12 months.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. We do our best to keep Later secure, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
